Health Share: A Letter to Congress

What interesting timing for a swine flu outbreak in a socialized medicine country with everyone asking, "€œWhy isn'€™t it as severe in the U.S.?"€

Mexico aside, the point is that the United States has developed the best by far health care that the world has ever known. Is this government, and are you personally, so arrogant as to think you can actually improve on the care we have been blessed to receive while people from everywhere travel here, hoping beyond hope for healing?

Are you willing to take the time out to debate your challenge to our way of life and survival? I dare you. You believe the pathetic inefficiency of political bureaucracy can handle the care for over three hundred million people plus seekers from beyond our borders? Where on earth do you see any precedent in this country's establishment documents for this idea of government intrusion into the doctor'€™s office and hospitals? Or are you taking the Marxist road where people are a burden to government and society, therefore dispensable?

If not, then we demand that you demonstrate where socialized medicine has worked, clearly and honestly.

You do understand integrity and intelligent debate. We have been living with the lackluster performance of government schools---is that why you feel justified to nose around where you have no business? Some people will never forgive you for bringing down to substandard levels our premier research and pharmaceutical development, prompt patient treatment, and technologically sophisticated hospitals. This travesty will be on your conscience. I wonder how you will feel when it is you or your children who suffers at death'€™s beckoning and YOUR doctor simply doesn'€™t care anymore because monetary reward and pursuit of excellence have long ago been stifled by bureaucratic mediocrity.

Have you no idea what has made this country the absolute best nation in the world? It'€™s FREEDOM: not government management. I can't believe I have to tell you that but the fact that this measure has been written at all, says that I do.

In a free market, prices are set at the cost of excellence. When effort is not sufficiently reimbursed, excellence dies. Let me repeat for emphasis. Our excellent medical system will utterly perish at the hand of governmental incompetence and false price setting. We are well aware of the high costs of treatment and uninsured young people who simply don'€™t want to put out the money for insurance, even though it is affordable. Be aware that these are not reasons for a government take over. Try removing the illegal immigrant burden on the paying citizens. The former problems will seem like chump change compared to what the U.S. is shelling out for people who aren'€™t even supposed to be here in the first place: they are illeeeeeeeeegals! WE don'€™t even deny their treatment! That'€™s how amazingly GREAT medical provision is in America.

Laws need to be enforced nonetheless. The strain is too great: ask Arnold. €œIf you thought health care is expensive now, wait till it'€™s free!  If you’re a democrat, let me explain: taxes! Taxes! Taxes! Taxed to death for inferior care

Please engage the brain and KEEP HEALTH CARE OUT OF WASHINGTON! (This letter is free for copying, faxing, or otherwise distributing to our leaders.)
