What the April 15th Tea Parties Were About
What the mainstream media cannot grasp is the fact that hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered across the country voluntarily without community organizers or any federal money. They cannot comprehend how that many people could gather without government backing, without a liberally bent national figure, or how they did it with their own personal money.
The left - and the left does now officially include the media - cannot wrap their heads around the fact that we are not just a bunch of mad, rich white people; we have lots of democrats joining this cause with us. We come from all backgrounds, ages, races, and careers. They cannot understand the concept of Americans as a whole. It's one side or the other.
It matters not your personal convictions. It matters not who you associated yourself with throughout your childhood and adulthood. It matters not if you have next to no experience in politics. If you're a left bent liberal democrat who believes in victimology, spreading the wealth, and getting rid of the constitution, then all the other left bent liberal democrats will follow you to the ends of the earth and back like a bunch of drunk-on-kool-aid lemmings.
The left cannot grasp the thought of being mad at anyone in the democrat party. Anyone on the left can be caught in immoral situations, they can cheat on their wives, they can cheat on their taxes, they can lie under oath; it doesn't matter. If you're a democrat, you're forgiven.
So they simply can't comprehend how a bunch of conservatives could be mad at their own party. The thought of being upset and angry at the leaders of your own party isn't something that a democrat can understand-or ever do.
This is why they look at our tea parties as just a bunch of ticked off, rich white people mad because their guy lost, mad about the election of the first African-American president. They simply can't see it any other way. If they couldn't be angry with members of their party, if they couldn't get so disgusted and mad at their party, then how could 'the other side' do it?
They also can't believe this is a real grass roots effort. How could individuals, on their own, come to such thought provoking conclusions and then act upon it without a national figure? How could so many individuals come up with an idea on their own without someone from their party telling them they should think that way? How could so many people come together on one day without funding from the government or some corporation, without a secret agenda?
It simply boggles their minds that this could be done. So they can't accept it. They can't accept it because they themselves couldn't do it. They couldn't react with anything other than devotion, awe, and wonder at their leaders.
It's just that simple.
